The room and what is outside

When it is relevant, I take shots where you see the room from inside and everything outside as well, despite the huge difference in light.

This is multi-exposure: several photographs taken from a tripod at different exposure levels are merged into one frame. That is why most of my real estate shots have a wide dynamic range.

Colour

When I choose the colour grading, I often turn to colour schemes that film photography brought into the world and that were refined over decades. The final pictures are pleasant to the eye. They add a sense of comfort and style and make people warm to what is in the photo.

Drone video

As an option, I shoot simple drone video with a DJI Avata 2, from the air and inside, if the rooms are big enough to fly through.

Flights that start high up work especially well: the drone flies in through a door or an open window, passes through the main rooms of the house, flies out the other side and pulls away.

An apartment in Funchal, September 2026

A three-bedroom apartment in Funchal, for sale. The owner picked the date: a Saturday with a cruise ship at the dock and a full moon that night.

I shot the apartment from half past eight in the morning. After dark I came back for the ship and the moon.
