A large public park on a hillside above Funchal harbor. Old trees, wide lawns, and an unobstructed view of the port, the Atlantic, and the red cliffs to the west. One of the few locations in the city center where you can stand on grass with the ocean behind you.
Works well in late afternoon when the light comes from the west and catches the harbor. Good for families: flat paths, open space for kids to move, and no long walk from the car.
