Lucas & Isabela. A Proposal at Miradouro do Guindaste, October 2026

I arrived at Miradouro do Guindaste early, with a friend. The sky was overcast, but the light was good: soft and diffused. All this time I had been photographing the scenery and talking to my friend, so I looked like an ordinary tourist.

Lucas did not hesitate. As soon as they reached the edge, he went down on one knee and proposed. I started shooting at once. Then, once it was clear that I was their photographer, I ran closer to photograph the ring, their hands and portraits, and carry on with the session.

About the session

Saturday, 3 October 2026, at Miradouro do Guindaste on the north coast near Faial. The start was set for 18:00, and the sun set that day at 19:51. Lucas booked the Short package: one location, about an hour.

The proposal ran as the tourist with a camera, one of the three ways I photograph a proposal on Madeira.
